Understanding Your Inner Critic

This is a relaxed, honest talk for mums about the voice in your head that says you’re not doing well enough, and why it gets so much louder after having a baby.

If you’ve been lying awake replaying everything you got wrong today, comparing yourself to every other mum at baby group, or feeling like you’re failing even when everyone tells you you’re doing great, then this session is for you.

In the 75 minutes, Rachel (a CBT and IPT therapist specialising in maternal mental health) will walk you through:

  • Where the inner critic comes from (old beliefs, high standards, and why becoming a beginner again in total exhaustion brings it all back)

  • How it shows up day to day; mum guilt, comparison, the endless “shoulds”, and why it so often gets mistaken for the truth

  • A few practical, evidence-based tools to quieten it

This isn’t therapy, nobody will be put on the spot, and there’s no pressure to share anything. It’s simply an honest look at something so many mums carry quietly, with space for questions at the end.

Babies are very welcome throughout. Bring them, feed them, do whatever you need to do.
